guelaguetza

on palms boulevard. sooooooo good. while having great company always helps (thanks ev! thanks bas!), i'm not sure that anything could've made this meal NOT good.

getting mole with our chips?! AMAZING. and i don't even like chips. (don't ask.)

getting mole with my super moist chicken tamale? (pronounced TAH-MAL, ok, ryan seacrest?) EVEN BETTER. yummilicious indeed. the pork dish covered in green sauce that bas got was also super moist and flavalicious. somehow reminiscent of a dish my mom made regularly when i was young. (and i'm a little asian girl whose mom could only make asian food. go figure.)

also, let's not forget the horchata with fruit puree and the hibiscus water with fruit puree. (ummm...emphasis on the fruit puree?)

even though we were all stuffed, we ended the meal with this oh so fabulous FLAN. not too sweet, not too mushy. just firm enough, just creamy enough. goldilocks would've been a fan. mmm....

btw, some chick that bas was flirting with said that she came all the way to this restaurant for their imported mexican cheese. i'm not quite sure what that means exactly, but it's a good thing, right?
