the bucket list

as we all know, i'm ALWAYS down for a good cry. and this movie TOTALLY does it.

the plot is simple. (no crazy turns.) the characters are basic. (jack nicholson, morgan freeman, and sean hayes are all quality.) and the target audience is older. (older and anyone who would label themselves sentimental.)

i think there's something about dying that compels people to start living. and i think it's sad that it takes people that long to get to that point. why can't we just get going a little earlier? my mantra is: life's short, so why not live it?

if you let it get to you (which you should), this kind of movie really makes you think about what makes your life fulfilling and who you want to touch in the process. and what kind of relationships you have and/or want to have with the people around you.

it also shows off all the wonderful things that you could do with your life, particularly travel and see the world. there's something amazing about technology allowing you to just pick up and go to some distant and faraway place. now if i could only get my own private jet...

at any rate, the ending to the bucket list was just surprising enough to make you want to bust out crying all over again. (go nanci!) so make sure to bring tissues. (sniff, sniff)
