as part of a lovely study day w/marina, we got to take a delicious dinner break at pampas grill, located in the heart of the culver center. (granted, i had no idea what and where the culver center was until tonight, but now i know.)
seeing as how i have to wake up at 6:45AM for my 5K run tomorrow, all i really have to say is that the meal was quick and fabulous. you pick up a tray, you pick up a plate, you pick through the salad bar, you pick through the meat, you pick up a drink, you pick up a chocolate, and you pay. BAM! there's your meal.
my favorites: the caesar salad (basic), the eggplant salad (yummy), the yucca flour w/bacon bits (delish), the collard greens (fresh), the cheese bread (marina's fave), the chicken stew (saucy), the eggplant lasagna (tasty considering that it was pasta), and the grilled lamb (which was the only thing i got off the skewers and which was perfectly cooked -- crispy outside, moist inside). i skipped the soda for the chocolate, which was totally the right decision. and i made it out of there w/o feeling completely stuffed and/or sick. HURRAH!
i just checked the business card and it's apparently the same place that i love at the farmer's market! i could've sworn there were more varied cuts at the farmer's market, but it's been so long that i can't say for sure. i suppose i'll just have to go back and check it out. oh, the things i must do for the integrity of this blog....
